Nursing Administration

The master’s program in Nursing Administration prepares students for advanced leadership roles in contemporary complex healthcare organizations.  The program is designed to teach students how to meet the dual accountabilities of nurse executive practice: to provide leadership for the practice of nursing and other patient care disciplines and to provide innovative and transformative leadership within the organization.

The curriculum incorporates theory, evidence, and current best practices from the areas of nursing, leadership, management, and business. In the last year of graduate study, each student has a clinical preceptor who is an expert nurse executive, so students learn the practical know-how of nursing leadership practice and are prepared to take on leadership roles upon graduation.  Numerous graduates of this program are presently in leadership positions in hospitals and healthcare organizations throughout New York City and beyond, and graduating students are frequently sought out for prospective leadership roles.
