Professional Overview 
Babette Biesecker is an experienced family nurse practitioner who has educated NPs for over 15 years and practiced in women’s health, college health, OB/GYN, rehabilitation, internal medicine and cardiology arenas. She is one of the first three holistic nurse practitioners in the U.S. and maintains multiple certifications including FNP, GNP, advanced holistic nursing, NICU nursing, Lamaze educator, interactive guided imagery practitioner, and clinical aromatherapy practitioner. She has studied multiple other CAM modalities. After joining NYU as full time faculty in 2006, Ms. Biesecker spearheaded curricular changes facilitating dual preparation of primary care/holistic nurse practitioners. Ms. Biesecker currently teaches ten graduate courses, coordinates the ANP/HNP program, maintains clinical practice as an FNP and conducts dissertation research as a PhD candidate.
