Undergraduate Nursing Student Organization

The Undergraduate Nursing Student Organization (UNSO) is a student-led organizations designed to assist NYU College of Nursing undergraduate students during their time as students. The UNSO Executive Board is comprised of undergraduate students who are elected to their positions by their peers. UNSO members provide social and educational programs that benefit student learning and educational experiences, as well as peer support, and opportunities to enhance nursing education and professional development/leadership experiences.

UNSO's goals as an organization are to establish a formal method of communication among students and NYU College of Nursing faculty and staff; to provide an environment that fosters skill development to meet academic demands; to encourage peer support and collaboration; to provide an environment for networking, promoting nursing awareness among NYU, and a sense of community among students of the various entry options (i.e., traditional, transfer, 15-month, RN to BS, etc.).

UNSO is also a chapter branch of the National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA). NSNA provides educational resources and professional development opportunities for all future nurses. We encourage all students at the college to join. Please feel free to email if you have any questions or wish to learn more!
