Rachel Eakley is a full-time PhD student and a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with clinical experience as an inpatient psychiatric nurse and research clinician. She maintains a private practice providing psychotherapy and medication management in New York City. As a full time candidate she expects her research interests to involve evidence-based interventions for depression and anxiety in perinatal and school-age populations and supporting the nurse workforce in caring for these patients.
Prior to nursing she studied Psychology and English at Boston University followed by a masters degree in Psychology at New York University. She then completed both the accelerated BSN and Psychiatric Mental Health NP programs at New York University Rory Meyer College of Nursing. She has training in several psychotherapy modalities in including Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, Complicated Grief Therapy, and family and couples therapy.
