Larry Z. Slater, PhD, RN-BC, CNE, Director of the Undergraduate Program and a Clinical Associate Professor at NYU Meyers, has been chosen as a fellow in the American Association of Colleges of Nursing’s (AACN) 2018 Leadership for Academic Nursing Program (LANP).

LANP is designed for nursing faculty who have experience in academic administration and aspire to more senior administrative or executive positions within the nursing academic unit. The yearlong fellowship provides participants with a focused assessment experience, a range of content and exercises related to successful executive leadership, and the opportunity to establish a peer network that fosters long-term partnerships and collegial support.
This year’s program participants come from 25 states and represent an array of institution types, including small liberal arts programs, public and private schools, and large academic
health centers.
Dr. Slater is a certified nurse educator and also board certified in gerontological nursing. He is an expert in technology-enhanced education and alternative teaching strategies, including flipped-classroom and active learning strategies.
