Abortion Care Training Incubator for Outstanding Nurse Scholars
The Abortion Care Training Incubator for Outstanding Nurse Scholars (ACTIONS) launched in 2018 at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) and in 2025, expanded to include the New York University Rory Meyers College of Nursing. At ACTIONS, we believe there's an opportunity to provide a different way of delivering abortion and sexual/ reproductive health care. Our national network of incubators supports scholars who are enthusiastic and passionate about transformational change in reproductive health using innovation as a lens and justice as a framework.
OUR GOAL
As the number of abortion training programs has increased in recent years, so too has the number of state-level abortion restrictions. With a focus on reshaping nursing education and workforce practices, the mission of NYU Meyers ACTIONS is to reshape the landscape of reproductive health care services while advocating for the rights and well-being of all individuals. We have launched several research and policy advocacy projects focused on sexual and reproductive health workforce issues that are nurse-led, person-centered, and use an equity and justice framework.
