Aliviado is a program of HIGN at the NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing. Aliviado, which roughly translates to "relieved" in Spanish and Portuguese, is focused on helping to advance care for persons living with memory problems or dementia and their caregivers. Our team has worked in the community for years, including with community based organizations such as CaringKind NYC, faith based organizations, and health systems to help meet the needs of caregivers and care recipients alike through innovative programs, products, and research. Our mission is to make a difference on a day to day basis in care, stress, and quality of life.
We are excited to announce we have a current research study approved by the NYU Grossman School of Medicine Institutional Review Board to pilot test a mobile app that assists caregivers in using non-pharmacologic strategies to address behavioral symptoms such as agitation and wandering.
