Remote proctoring emulates the role of a proctor confirming the identity of the test-taker and safeguarding the integrity of the exam. Using ExamSoft's monitoring service, ExamID and ExamMonitor NYU Meyers provides remote proctoring services.

Remote proctoring is only being offered for the graduate level courses at this time.

Your privacy and security is of utmost importance to NYU Meyers Technology. Examplify ExamID and ExamMonitor abide by NYU Data Security Policies found here:

In order to prepare for remote proctoring, you will need to create an exam ID and confirm that your computer meets the technical requirements for ExamID and ExamMonitor. This must be done 48 hours before your real assessment by taking the "Remote Proctoring Mock Exam" provided by NYU Meyers Technology.

  • Your device must be inline with NYU Meyers computer minimum requirements.
    • Double check that your webcam and microphone are working.
  • You must have Examplify 3.3 or higher. You can download it here.
  • Make sure you clear your registration for Examplify prior to taking your mock exam.
  • Take the "Remote Proctoring Mock Exam" provided by NYU Meyers Technology
    • Password: MockExam1

When you begin the mock exam you will be asked to create an ExamID. Follow these instructions to setup your baseline image for ExamID.

ExamID is an image used to identify you on the day of the exam. During the remote proctoring mock exam, a baseline image is created. Please make sure you are in a well lit area, and looking straight on to the camera.

Once Meyers IT has released the MockExam to you, please follow these instructions to setup your baseline image.

To configure permissions for Exam Monitor please click on the link for the operating system you are using:

Please follow the steps in this checklist before starting your exam:

  1. Make sure you have disabled your antivirus software. Instructions found here.
  2. Ensure you are logged in to your account by looking at the top left of Examplify. You should see your name and ID number.
  3. Before starting, make sure you can see the ‘ExamID’ and/or ‘ExamMonitor’ tile under exam details

  • Turn off your cell phone.
  • Remove headphones/earbuds.
  • Use the bathroom before your test.
