The Rory Meyers College of Nursing is pleased to announce the J. Paul Scholarship for a baccalaureate student entering sequence three in the fall 2024 cohort and newly admitted to the HIGN Undergraduate Scholars Program. This scholarship is aimed at nursing students committed to a career in public health or home and community based (includes ambulatory, long-term care, home health, hospice or other forms of care outside of the hospital) geriatric nursing.
Applicants must show prior evidence of focus on older adults through public service, public health, and long-term (home care, community-based care, assisted living and nursing homes). In addition, applicants must commit to increasing health equity and serving in medically underserved areas and vulnerable populations.
Eligibility and Submission Requirements
To apply for the J. Paul Scholarship for HIGN scholars, students must:
- Be admitted to and accept a position in the HIGN Scholars Program for undergraduate students.
- Applicants must be enrolled full-time as a continuing baccalaureate student entering sequence three in the fall 2024 cohort.
- Have a FAFSA on file for the current academic year.
- Submit a current resume and an unofficial Rory Meyers transcript in pdf format.
- Be in good academic standing, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Be aware that students receiving tuition remission from NYU or NYU Langone are not eligible to receive Rory Meyers scholarships. Students receiving tuition remission from other employers may not receive awards above the total cost of their tuition for the term.
- Be aware that international students are not eligible to receive Rory Meyers scholarships.
- Understand that awards cannot be deferred and are not renewable.
- If awarded, agree to fill out a World of Thanks profile to thank their scholarship donor(s).
