New nursing sequence students:

Submit your NYU admissions deposit

Information about submitting your admissions deposit to NYU is available in your letter of admission.

Activate your NYU email address

Your NYU email account will be the primary form of communication used between you and the University. Be sure that you activate your NetID and NYUHome account, which will give you access to your NYU email. Your NetID, which can be found in your admission letter, is used to sign into systems at NYU. To activate this NetID and set your password, go to the NYU Information Technology Services (ITS) Start page.

Submit health clearance forms by December 18, 2023.

Please upload your required Health Clearance and Technical Standards documents to American DataBank by December 18, 2023. You can access the Rory Meyers College of Nursing Health Clearance forms by emailing nursing.healthclearance@nyu.edu. Review further details about health clearance requirements.

For information about the health clearance and technical standards required for all students entering the first nursing clinical sequence (Adult & Elder I: NURSE-UN 240), please review the information available in NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing Clinical Requirements.

In addition, you should determine your eligibility to waive the NYU Student Health Insurance. More information about health insurance at NYU is available here: Student Health Insurance. If students elect to waive the NYU health insurance plan, they must complete the Enrollment/Waiver Form online at Enrollment Waiver Form.

Please note that all new incoming students are required to attend preclinical training. Training sessions for N95 mask fit testing and BLS certification are mandatory and will take place on the following dates: September 9-10th. Failure to attend CPR training will delay the start of the clinical rotation and result in a clinical absence.

Please review Meyers Clinical Absenteeism Policy. There are no additional outside costs for these NYU trainings.

For more information about CPR training classes, please review the information available in NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing Clinical Requirements.

For questions about health clearance forms or preclinical training, please contact the Office of Academic Clinical Affairs.

Course Registration

The Office of Undergraduate Programs will randomly assign you to clinical sites and register you for ALL of your required coursework during your nursing sequences. Students in the BS program have their off-campus clinical experiences in a variety of settings throughout the New York Tristate area. You will receive a confirmation email when your schedule is complete and available in Albert.

The Office of Undergraduate Programs and Academic Clinical Affairs put a tremendous amount of effort into securing clinical sites and creating each student’s schedule. Our random process for clinical site selection results in a fair process for all students enrolled in our program. Due to the requirements, policies, and procedures established by our hospital/agency clinical partners, we are unable to make changes to student clinical assignments, unless required by our hospital/agency clinical partners.
