Rachel Eakley APNA Conference Award

Level of study: Baccalaureate Accelerated Baccalaureate Masters Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Awarded: Fall

Rory Meyers College of Nursing is pleased to announce the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) Conference Award. These funds were generously donated by Dr. Rachel Eakley, a psychiatric nurse, researcher, educator, and graduate of NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing. Dr. Eakley established this scholarship in 2024 to support students with an interest in psychiatric mental health nursing to attend the APNA Annual Conference. Attending this conference is a great way to explore the diverse field of psychiatric nursing and connect with others with shared interests. [However, the travel expenses can make this challenging for some students.]

This scholarship will select two successful candidates each year and grant awards on an expendable basis to support these students as they attend the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) Conference. This year, the conference will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana, from October 15 to 18, 2025, at the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
