The Rory Meyers College of Nursing is pleased to announce the Rachel Eakley APNA Conference Award. These funds were generously donated by Dr. Rachel Eakley, a recent graduate of the NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing, Florence S. Downs PhD in Nursing Research and Theory Development Program. Dr. Eakley received her Bachelor of Science from Boston University with a major in English and Psychology. Dr. Eakley received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from NYU Meyers, her Master’s of Science in Nursing from the Psychiatric Mental Health NP Program at NYU Meyers, and her Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Research and Theory Development Program from NYU Meyers. Prior to pursuing a degree in nursing, Dr. Eakley earned her Master of Art in Psychology from the NYU Graduate School of Arts and Science.
This scholarship will select two successful candidates each year and grant awards on an expendable basis to support these students as they attend the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) Conference in Louisville, Kentucky on October 9-12, 2024, at the Kentucky International Convention Center.
Eligibility and Submission Requirements
- Have a valid FAFSA on file for the current academic year.
- Submit a current resume and an unofficial Rory Meyers transcript in pdf format.
- Be aware that students receiving tuition remission from NYU or NYU Langone are not eligible to receive Rory Meyers scholarships. Students receiving tuition remission from other employers may not receive awards above the total cost of their tuition for the term.
- Be aware that international students are not eligible to receive Rory Meyers scholarships.
- Understand that awards cannot be deferred and are not renewable.
- Be in good academic standing, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- If awarded, agree to fill out a World of Thanks profile to thank their scholarship donor(s).
- Be enrolled full-time as a continuing (not in your first semester) student in NYU Meyers Undergraduate Program, or be enrolled part-time/full-time as a continuing (not in your first semester) student in the NYU Meyers Graduate Nursing Program.
