Abbey Whitewood, MSN, RN, CPN, is a Clinical Instructor at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing. Her teaching and research interests focus on nursing education, global health, and pediatric nursing. She has published research on water quality and access, including Assessment of the Fluoride Concentration in Drinking Water and Tea in the Arusha Region of Tanzania.
Prior to joining the faculty at NYU Meyers, Prof. Whitewood worked as a Clinical Nurse at NewYork- Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center on the Step-Down Solid Organ Transplant Unit from 2019 to 2022. She then transitioned to NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, where she currently works on the Pediatric Progressive Care Unit. She serves as a primary preceptor, charge nurse, Magnet Committee Chair, and Unit Practice Council Chair.
