Na Yeon Ahn's additional information

Na Yeon Ahn, MPH, RN, is a nursing researcher whose work seeks to understand and reduce health disparities. After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Kyung Hee University, she began her career as a clinical nurse, working primarily with pediatric patients. Through caring for adolescents and adults with diabetes, she came to recognize the critical role that social determinants of health play in chronic disease management. This realization led her to pursue a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology.
During her MPH at Yonsei University, she worked as a research assistant on several national statistical projects related to cardiovascular health, such as the Korea National Cardiovascular Disease Statistics and Hypertension Fact Sheet. Alongside these descriptive epidemiological projects, she conducted her own research projects on area deprivation and neighborhood characteristics. She delivered several oral and poster presentations at both national and international conferences and received the Paul Dudley White International Scholar Award at the American Heart Association Hypertension Scientific Sessions 2025.
Now, while pursuing her PhD at NYU Meyers, she looks forward to further exploring cardiometabolic health in urban communities. Outside of research, she enjoys independently published zines and narrative graphic novels and looks forward to exploring local bookstores in New York City.
