Ranjani Shah earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Pennsylvania and practiced as a registered nurse for five years while also completing her Master’s degree in Nursing from her alma mater, specializing as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP). For the past eight years, she worked in an Ob-gyn Medicaid clinic in New York City, where she was committed to improving care for underserved communities. Her clinical experience, particularly with vulnerable populations, inspired her to pursue a PhD to address systemic health disparities. Ranjani's research interest focuses on exploring the barriers to treatment seeking for resettled refugees and asylum seeking women with breast cancer.
