Join us for a virtual conversation with Elizabeth Ayello as she reflects on her nursing journey and shares the impact of interdisciplinary teamwork, publishing, and mentoring on her career and the profession.
Dr. Elizabeth A. Ayello is a board-certified wound and ostomy nurse. She is internationally known as an author, editor, researcher, clinician, mentor, consultant and educator. She is currently Co-Editor in Chief for the international, interprofessional journal Advances in Skin and Wound Care, faculty for the International Interprofessional Wound Care Course, and President of her nursing consultation corporation. She is immediate past President of the World Council of Enterostomal Therapists and the WCET Journal Executive Editor Emeritus, which under her leadership became the only wound care journal regularly published in 5 Languages - (English, Chinese, French, Portuguese and Spanish). She has extensive experience teaching in the USA and globally, has over 200 peer-reviewed journal articles, and several books. A past president of the National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel, she headed the task force to change the stage 1 definition to be inclusive of persons with dark skin and is currently a member of the global group writing the evidence based 3rd edition of the International Pressure Injury Prevention and Treatment Clinical Guideline to be released February 2025.
