Health Promotion across the Adult-Older Adult Lifespan

This course provides an introduction to theoretical, developmental, and clinical issues relevant to advanced nursing practice in the care of adults and older adults. It is designed to enable students to develop the necessary knowledge base and skills for evidence-based practice as advanced practice nurses. Social, political, cultural, and ethical issues that influence access and utilization of health care are explored and health belief models are incorporated. Health promotion and disease prevention concepts and strategies will be emphasized.
