Kimberly Hadson is a full time Post BS to PhD student in the Florence S. Downs PhD program. She has
worked as a nursing assistant in long term care and as clinical nurse in neurology/neurosurgery
and behavioral health. She received a bachelor of science in biochemistry from McGill
University and bachelor of science in nursing from Hunter College. As part of the Nursing
Academic Research Fellowship at New York-Presbyterian, she completed a mixed methods
study on moral distress among psychiatric healthcare assistants within behavioral health
settings, which she presented at the Eastern Nursing Research Society 2023 conference. She is
currently working with the Moving Forward Nursing Home Quality Coalition to implement a
CNA educational pathway. Her research interests include nursing assistants and the workforce,
behavioral health, and moral distress.
