At the heart of Meyers’ collective accomplishments is our most valuable asset – our supremely talented students, faculty, administrators and staff. Meyers is committed to a peoplefirst culture that prioritizes well-being; personal and career development and growth; and an inclusive environment where everyone contributes their talents to achieve our mission. Our goal is to build an organizational culture based on empowerment; psychological safety; continuous learning and improvement to develop a resilient and future-ready nursing workforce and College of Nursing.

 

Initiatives

  • Nurture a person-centered culture where psychological safety, well-being and agency are embedded in policies, processes, and practices to support sustainable performance for our students, faculty, researchers, and administrative staff.

  • Create a holistic workforce development and retention program to enhance professional growth and personal flourishing for our students, faculty, and staff across career stages.

  • Build and enhance collaborative cross-department teams.

  • Strategically align faculty expertise with curricular needs, staff talents and job requirements in the core areas of education, research, global experiences, and social impact.

At NYU Meyers, our vision for academic excellence is based on the belief that superior patient outcomes begin in the classroom. We are dedicated to transforming nursing education by combining rigorous clinical experiences with deep human connections, to support and embrace both the art and science of nursing. We strive to ensure that Meyers graduates are visionary leaders, technically proficient clinicians, compassionate advocates, and nimble problem-solvers in the increasingly complex and changing healthcare landscape.

 

Initiatives

  • Implement pathbreaking curricula, new program offerings, delivery models, and high-impact practices so that NYU Meyers nurses are known as skilled clinicians and leaders dedicated to social change.

  • Enhance students’ digital and information technology competencies to lead in the ethical application of future-focused healthcare delivery models.

  • Expand the depth and breadth of local and global educational programs and experiences for Meyers students, anchored in our dynamic city and spanning the NYU Global network.

  • Enhance clinical education, research, and interprofessional practice opportunities to reflect curricular innovations focusing on nursing practice and nurse-led models applied across the lifespan to improve the health of communities.

  • Cultivate students’ leadership skills and exposure to the breadth 
    of nursing career pathways.

  • Be recognized among the top five colleges of nursing nationally.

Our research mission is to generate cutting-edge, transdisciplinary scientific discoveries that enhance person- and family-centered care, improve healthcare systems, and translate research into practice
and policy.

Our singular and urgent purpose is to uncover the root causes
of health disparities and create sustainable solutions for a healthier, more just society.

 

Initiatives

  • Enhance existing research pillars and expand into new areas of inquiry reflecting the next frontier of scientific discovery to amplify Meyers’ impact to advance high quality care for all individuals
    and communities.

  • Develop research opportunities for Meyers students across all program levels to create savvy clinicians who integrate evidence into practice and to generate interest in nursing research careers.

  • Offer global research experiences grounded in our deep expertise in community-engaged approaches, pairing faculty and students to advance solutions to societal challenges and improve health outcomes.

  • Enhance grant management services to ensure a seamless faculty experience across the pre-award and post-award periods.

  • Promote the diversity of research produced by Meyers faculty and students and its impact on nursing practice, care delivery innovation, and policy.

  • Diversify the research funding portfolio to ensure stability, reduce uncertainty, and broaden our areas of expertise and inquiry.

  • Elevate Meyers national research standing to the top ten of research intensive colleges of nursing.

Leverage the NYU global network to expand education and research experiences and innovative collaborations that enhance faculty and students’ contributions to create a more pluralistic and sustainable society.

We believe that nurses are agents of social change, ensuring the health of society. We are committed to preparing nurses who use their skills to demand a more just future through advocacy, legislative leadership, and community activism. By fostering skills in courageous advocacy, we empower our community of students, alumni, and faculty to drive the system changes that are needed to ensure that health is recognized as a human right and that high-quality care is an inherent feature of the healthcare delivery system.

 

Initiatives

  • Foster a global mindset among our students and graduates through specialized training, international partnerships, and immersive experiences, preparing them to champion health equity and elevate standards of care on an international scale.

  • Position NYU Meyers as the premier catalyst for health equity research, practice, and social impact through high-performing partnerships focusing on knowledge transfer, workforce capacity, and community-engaged research spanning New York City, national, and global contexts.

  • Leverage faculty expertise in health policy and advocacy to advance changes in local, state, and federal policies and regulations on relevant nursing and healthcare topics.

  • Sustain the NYC Chief Nursing Officer Think Tank to shape policy responses to nursing workforce and practice issues in the metropolitan area and New York State.

At NYU Meyers, we view financial stewardship and the effective use of our resources as a strategic tool to empower our faculty, support our students, and expand our impact in New York City, the nation, and across the NYU global network. By optimizing our processes and aligning our resources to our strategic goals, we ensure that every dollar invested translates to academic success, clinical innovations, and healthier communities.

  • Increase total revenue and diversify income streams to ensure long-term resilience and reinvestments in mission-critical programs
    and initiatives.

  • Increase scholarships and financial aid to make a NYU Meyers education affordable to promote new careers in nursing and social mobility in our profession.

  • Cultivate new relationships for philanthropy and fundraising to support our mission.

  • Cultivate and grow an innovation mindset and entrepreneurial core that empower Meyers nurses to leverage clinical expertise to create nurse-led ventures that fill systemic gaps and unmet needs in the healthcare sector to promote healthy lives.

  • Reduce administrative burden through digital transformation.
