Project

The project aims to achieve the following: Aim 1. Identify and characterize longitudinal trajectories of biologically informed depressive symptom phenotypes and examine potential determinants (e.g., HIV, menopause, trauma) of transitioning into or remaining within an IMD-type subgroup; and Aim 2. Examine the parallel trajectories of inflammation and depressive symptom domains, testing whether social or clinical factors moderate the strength of the associations between inflammatory and depressive growth slopes. This research aligns with both NINR’s focus on optimizing health for all and the NIMH Research Domain Criteria (RDoC) framework, which prioritizes transdiagnostic symptoms over broad diagnostic categories.
