Leveraging the Global Consortium of Nursing and Midwifery Studies (GCNMS) 87-country research network, we will create the first Nursing Human Resources Development Index (NHRDI). It will be modeled after other international development indices, such as the Human Development Index and the Gender Development Index. Its creation will establish the first internationally standardized set of indicators for the nursing profession worldwide, helping us understand the relationship between a country’s socioeconomic development and its nursing workforce.
