Project

This project will establish the NYU Community-Based Aging Data Hub, an interdisciplinary initiative led by nursing, public health, and health services researchers. The goal is to create a secure, scalable infrastructure that aggregates, harmonizes, and enables analysis of data from community-based aging programs. In Aim 1, we conduct a comprehensive landscape analysis of existing NYU datasets derived from community-based aging research to identify common domains, overlaps, and gaps. In Aim 2, we develop a Community Advisory Board and formalize partnerships with community-based organizations, who will also contribute their data —expanding the dataset beyond NYU and establishing pathways for ongoing data integration. In Aim 3, we will conduct proof-of-concept harmonization of internal datasets to demonstrate feasibility and generate preliminary insights into unmet health care and social needs among older adults living in the community.
