Research across the Rory Meyers College of Nursing brings together faculty, students, and partners to advance cutting-edge science and translate discoveries into real-world health solutions.

Grounded in nursing science’s focus on person- and family-centered care, systems improvement, and translation into practice and policy, Meyers researchers work across disciplines to improve health across populations, with special attention to groups experiencing the highest rates and burdens of health and social challenges. The college also offers a robust number of research training opportunities for students and trainees—from undergraduates to postdoctoral fellows—building the next generation of nurse scientists and health leaders.

Research Opportunities for Students and Trainees

NYU Meyers integrates learners into every stage of the research enterprise. Undergraduate researchers participate in mentored projects across the college, gaining early experience in inquiry, data analysis, and dissemination.

Research-intensive postdoctoral fellowships

Postdoctoral Fellows are offered dedicated time, mentorship, and funding to advance independent research careers. Together, these pathways cultivate a vibrant, inclusive community of scholars committed to advancing nursing science and improving health through discovery, innovation, and collaboration.

Research Collaboratives

The Meyers Research Collaboratives bridge the gap between scientific discovery and clinical practice. Through faculty-led mentorship, we create shared space for collaboration and training, accelerating innovation and the translation of high-impact research across four key domains:

Aging hands clapsed together forming a circle& Serious Illness (ASIR): Advances research on aging, palliative and end-of-life care, dementia, caregiving, and community and policy engagement.

Health Services Research (HSR): Focuses on healthcare delivery, nursing workforce, quality and safety, chronic disease prevention, and digital health innovation.

Maternal, Reproductive, and Child Health (MRCH): Promotes research to improve the health and well-being of women, children, adolescents, and families across the life course.

Population Precision Health & Chronic Conditions (PPH): Integrates biomolecular, behavioral, symptom, and social science to advance precision health and chronic condition research.

Research Support

NYU Meyers offers a comprehensive research infrastructure that supports investigators at all career stages—faculty, students, and fellows—in developing, launching, and sustaining high-impact projects. Through specialized cores and dedicated research administration teams, the College provides the expertise, tools, and collaborative networks needed to accelerate discovery and translation from the lab to the community.
