Jorge Prada Memorial Nursing Conference Scholarship

Awarded: Fall and Spring

In the Spring of 2019, a crowdfunded campaign was started in memory of Jorge Prada. Jorge Prada was an adjunct faculty member at NYU Meyers and he passed away at a young age from colorectal cancer. Prada believed that enrichment activities (conferences, networking) helped young nurses' careers and this scholarship was created to give our nursing students the opportunity to attend conferences or pursue networking opportunities outside the classroom. Funds will be used directly for enrichment activities such as conferences, networking opportunities, and certifications.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Have a valid FAFSA on file for the current academic year.
  2. Submit a current resume, unofficial transcript, and one-paragraph statement that demonstrates how the funds will be used and explain why you are applying for this award. You may be specific and include specific opportunities, costs, and demonstrate financial need in your statement.
  3. Applicants must currently be enrolled in courses as a Meyers student for the semester in which they are applying.
  4. If awarded, recipients of the scholarship agree to fill out a World of Thanks profile to show their appreciation to the donor(s).
