Maile Mercer is a critical care nurse who has worked primarily as an ICU nurse and also in nursing leadership in New York City. After graduating from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Political Science, Maile began her career working for a United States Congressman in Washington, DC. After nearly five years on Capitol Hill, Maile attended Georgetown University where she earned her BSN. Maile also holds an MSN in Health Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. Maile brings an interdisciplinary, policy-informed approach to nursing and nursing research. As a PhD candidate, her primary research interests are nurses' psychological trauma, hypervigilance, and improving nurse well-being. Maile is a proud third generation nurse.
