Estelle Osborne Legacy Celebration
Estelle Osborne Legacy Celebration
60 Washington Square S
New York, NY 10012
You are invited to celebrate the legacy of Estelle Osborne, an educator, administrator, and leader who paved the way for generations of women of color in the nursing profession. Throughout her life, Estelle Osborne broke down racial barriers in healthcare education and defied a system built on racism to help provide quality healthcare for all.
Join us for an afternoon celebrating pioneers in the nursing field, thoughtful conversations, and awards ceremony honoring the 2024 Estelle Osborne Award winner, Dr. Kimberly Souffront.
This year's panel discussion is entitled "A Nurse’s Power to Change Minds, Lift Spirits, and Heal Our World."
For too long, the threads of systemic racism have been woven into nursing. However, our collective action has the power to unravel injustice and heal our world. Nurses empowered with anti-oppression strategies and best practices can craft a future where diversity is celebrated, equity is prioritized, and anti-racism is embedded within our healthcare systems.
Our panel of nurse leaders will discuss:
- Real-world examples of how nurses are leading the charge towards more just and equitable healthcare systems.
- The power of anti-racism practices in fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment for all nurses.
- Actionable steps you can take to become an anti-racist nurse and champion for change. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, all guests must be registered in advance. No walk ins will be accepted.
