Kathryn Leep-Lazar is a fulltime student in the PhD program. She has a B.A. in Psychology from Oberlin College and a BSN from University of Maryland. She has been working in a neonatal intensive care unit in Maryland for the past three years, where she was a member of the Clinical Practice Council and the Quality and Safety Improvement Committee. She co-wrote and presented a poster at the 2019 annual conference for the National Association of Neonatal Nurses, on implementing an Early-Onset Sepsis Calculator to reduce NICU admissions of babies born to mothers diagnosed with chorioamnionitis. She was also involved in a safe sleep quality improvement initiative on her unit. Kathryn’s research interests are in NICU quality improvement, NICU staffing protocols, as well as change management in nursing.
