Plant-Based Lifestyle Nursing (PBLN)

The mission of Plant-Based Lifestyle Nursing (PBLN) is to make the benefits of plant-based living accessible and welcoming to people of all cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds. The organization has 3 Pillars of Action:

  1. Outreach - effective, diplomatic, uplifting outreach that speaks to the intended audience without alienating them.
  2. Advocacy - updating existing nutritional guidelines in textbooks using evidence-based practices that are not influenced by the dairy and meat industries; lobbying the American Nurses Association( ANA) and other nursing organizations to include interspecies compassion and sustainability in ethical guidelines; advocating for affordable and accessible plant-based, nutritious options.
  3. Events & Education - focused on plant-based health promotion/prevention within Lifestyle Medicine, Compassion & Sustainability, and Plant Medicine.

If you are interested in joining PBLN, please contact the President, Karen Lee at kl4975@nyu.edu.

Membership in all student organizations at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing is open to all NYU Meyers students.
