Nursing education currently faces significant hurdles in engaging digital learners, ensuring complex information retention, and reducing student burnout. Traditional didactic teaching often fails to meet competency-based requirements or maximize learner potential. This one-year pilot project at NYU Meyers addresses these challenges by integrating neuroaesthetics—the intersection of art, psychology, and cognitive neuroscience—into the nursing curriculum. By utilizing sensory-rich, artistic experiences to activate the brain’s reward circuitry, this methodology builds robust neuronal pathways to enhance memory and meaning.
