Pless Talk by Prof. Sharon Kardia of the University of Michigan

Prof. Sharon Kardia will be giving a Pless Talk entitled, “Research Strategies Underlying Precision Medicine: Opportunities and Challenges.” She is a Professor of Epidemiology at the University of Michigan. 

Kardia has over 30 years of experience in the genetic epidemiology of common chronic diseases and has authored >300 publications. A major emphasis of her work has been on the cerebral, cardiac, renal, and peripheral arterial target organ damage associated with hypertension. Over the last decade, her group has led investigations of genomic, epigenomic, and transcriptomic factors associated with over 100 different health outcomes, including cardiovascular disease, diabetes, dementia and many different forms of cancer.

 

Lunch will be served to those who RSVP by October 9, 2019 at 12PM.

Please note that in an effort to support NYU’s sustainability initiatives, we will not be ordering single-use water bottles for our lunch.  Feel free to bring your own re-fillable water bottle if you would like, as we will be providing a water dispenser.
